This course bundle is aimed at learners who have a pre-existing knowledge of HTML & CSS and want to improve their skills to the point where they are capable of developing professional-standard, responsive websites and want to become proficient in the JavaScript programming language, which supports the creation of dynamic, interactive games and other sophisticated web applications.

To allow for the additional required study time students will be registered for support and on these courses for a 18 month period.

Based on the proven "learn by example” principle which, as the name implies, provides real-world examples to illustrate a particular topic or technique, the courses are delivered through our on-line training portal via a standard web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, or Safari. The lesson notes are delivered through slides giving you the required information to work through each lesson and there are student files you will download to work on so you are putting into practice what you are learning. You will also be supported by a personal tutor who is available to provide feedback on your work at any time throughout the period of study.

• Webmaster: Advanced HTML & CSS - Level 4 Course

The Webmaster: Advanced HTML & CSS - Level 4 Course is designed for students with a prior knowledge of HTML and CSS and demonstrates how responsive web design techniques can be utilised to build professional-quality websites which will automatically adjust to the size of the viewing device to provide a consistent viewing experience.

On successful completion of this course, students will receive the Distance Learning Centre Webmaster Advanced HTML & CSS Diploma with comprehensive feedback and analysis of their course work, as well as an Open Awards Quality Endorsed Unit Course Certificate with 8 Open Awards Credits.

• Webmaster: JavaScript - Level 4 Course

The Webmaster: JavaScript - Level 4 Course takes you step-by-step through the JavaScript language, including working with arrays and loops and JavaScript’s powerful built-in objects, such as the math, string, and date objects. Your expertise is honed via a set of interesting exercises, assignments, and projects which include the development of a number of interesting games, such as Matching Pairs, Connect Four, and Minefield, a challenging "find the mines” game, where your new-found skills are utilised to create a dynamic, interactive gaming experience of the highest quality.

When this course has been successfully completed, you will receive the DLC Webmaster JavaScript Diploma, together with comprehensive feedback and analysis of your course work, as well as an Open Awards Quality Endorsed Unit Course Certificate with 9 Open Awards Credits.

To complete this bundle of courses, you should have completed the Webmaster: HTML & CSS for Beginners Course or have a pre-existing working knowledge of HTML and CSS, you should be reasonably computer literate, and have text editing or word processing skills. The online courses are simply accessed via any web browser, and we highly-recommend that the courses are completed on a standard PC with the Windows Operating System or on an Apple Mac with the OS X operating system.

Students may register at any time and have a period of 18 months to complete their course of studies, although extension periods can be purchased if the courses are not completed within the designated period. As each course is self-paced, you can complete them in your own time, and a personal tutor will be allocated to each student for email support throughout the period of study.

You will be assessed on completion of your coursework, which includes the creation of web pages and other exercises, assignments, and projects, and your work can be sent to your personal tutor by email (preferred) or by post.

On successful completion of the courses, students will receive Webmaster Diplomas with comprehensive feedback and, providing the assignments have been completed to the required standards, students will also receive the following Open Awards Quality Endorsed Unit Course Certificates:

• Open Awards Webmaster: Advanced HTML & CSS - Level 4 (9 Open Awards Credits).

The completion of this course alone does not lead to an Ofqual regulated qualification but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills towards regulated qualifications in the future.
