How Distance Learning Works...
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF DISTANCE LEARNING?
There are many advantages to Distance Learning, but the main advantages have to be cost and flexibility. With Distance Learning there is no need to attend a classroom environment, so there is no waste of time or other resources in transport, commuting to specific location for each class. You can learn at your own pace, so you can get through your course as quickly or slowly as you please, and of course the costs can also be a lot less!
HOW DO THE COURSES WORK?
It's really very simple. We supply you with the appropriate study materials to head for a particular certificate or exam(s). You receive your complete course materials as a single package, so you know exactly what you are receiving for your money. You then receive support through a personal tutor to help you get through the course materials.
WHEN CAN I START?
You can start a course at any time. We do not have any set dates for starting a course. As the courses are self-study, we can send you the appropriate materials and you can work through at your own pace.
WILL I GAIN A CERTIFICATE OR QUALIFICATION?
Almost all of our courses will lead to accredited certificates of achievements, Ofqual Regulated Qualifications or industry recognised certification. The accreditation information is detailed on each course page. Some courses will include the final Certification/Qualification within their course fees, while others will need external examinations or tests.
External examination or test fees are not included unless specified as these are optional, and not all students will want to complete them. We do however include all relevant information for booking examinations/tests and if possible we will also give the option of purchasing an exam/test voucher to cover their costs. If you have any questions or would like further information on a specific certificate or qualification then please call our sales team on 0845 129 7238 or 0191 512 0481 or you can email us at: info@distance-learning-centre.co.uk.
WILL I HAVE A TUTOR?
You will always have access to support by email or by post. With some courses like GCSE's, IGCSE's and A Level's you will also get telephone support.
HOW LONG DO THE COURSES TAKE TO COMPLETE?
Course lengths will vary, but you will find a reasonable estimate of course durations set in applied learning hours on each course page of our website. How quickly you can complete is in your own hands. If you have a student who is studying 10 hours per week, they are likely to finish twice as quick as a student studying 5 hours per week.
CAN I PAY IN INSTALMENTS?
Yes, we offer interest free instalment plans to help students spread the cost of their course fees. We offer 3-month instalment plans through Klarna, or we can offer a longer plan through GoCardless Direct Debits, and you can find the available payment plans on each individual course page of our Website. The first payment will usually be taken on the day that we process your enrolment and the additional monthly payments will be taken on or around the same date of the following months unless you have specified differently.
WILL I GET A JOB ON COMPLETION OF THE COURSE?
We cannot guarantee whether students will be able to work in a specific job role after completing a course. Each Job is different and will ask for specific skills and qualifications. All we can guarantee is that on successfully completing the course you can gain the detailed certificate or qualification. We always recommend that students look at available jobs in their area to see what skills/qualifications are being asked for if this is their end goal.
WHAT IF I AM NOT ENTIRELY HAPPY WITH MY COURSE MATERIALS?
If you change your mind or you are not happy with your course materials then simply let us know! All courses have a 14 day return policy so if you are not satisfied with your course then you can swap it for another or return it for a no questions asked course refund.
WHY ARE YOUR COURSE MATERIALS CHEAPER OR MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHERS I HAVE SEEN?
Each company will set their own course fees based on Awarding Body fees, tutor fees and any other related overheads. Unlike some other companies we keep our overheads to a minimum! We don't spend thousands of pounds on expensive television or radio campaigns. We don't employ a large sales team or send sales people to your door, and we don't buy mailing lists or email lists to target new students. This policy is designed to keep our prices as low as possible, which is why we also don't haggle or offer to price match unrelated courses. Equally we also don't use discount websites or other gimmicks to sell materials. We do receive enquiries to say we have seen a "similar" course for £30.00 on Groupon or other discount website, These "similar" courses are often unsupported and without any accredited certification and usually delivered as a PDF file, so you are effectively paying for an expensive e-book!
CAN I DO THE COURSES OVERSEAS?
Yes. However, there will be additional postage and packing fees for sending hard-copy course materials outside of the UK and most International course fees have to be paid in full unless your location is covered by Klarna. Any additional postage and packing fees will be added to your order when you select the appropriate postage option on the order checkout page.
