IGCSE Courses

The Biology IGCSE Course is designed to follow the structure of the Pearson Edexcel 4BI0 specification. In combination with other suitable IGCSE entry subjects the course is an ideal preparation for those who wish to go on to study Biology, or other biological subjects at A level. The course is designed to give students a broad understanding of biological facts, concepts and principles and to develop skills in biological investigation and give the ability to evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of modern scientific developments.

The Business IGCSE Course is designed to meet the requirements of the Pearson Edexcel 4BS1 specification. This distance learning course concerns the business aspects of organisations within their economic, political and social contexts. The performance of business is studied from a range of perspectives. Using case studies, your course ensures that you have knowledge, understanding and experience of the real world of business organisations. The use of case study materials also requires that you use a variety of methods to analyse and evaluate this evidence and thus make reasoned judgements in the context of real business scenarios.

The Chemistry IGCSE Course is designed to follow the structure of the Pearson Edexcel 4CH1 specification and is divided into six separate modules. In combination with other suitable IGCSE entry subjects the course is an ideal preparation for those who wish to go on to study Chemistry at A level. The course is designed to develop (1) a broad understanding of chemical facts, concepts and principles, (2) skills in chemical investigation and (3) an ability to evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of modern scientific developments.

The Economics IGCSE Course is designed to follow the structure of the Pearson Edexcel 4EC1 specification and is divided into four separate modules. This home study course will help you develop your knowledge as you are taken on a tour of the world of economics, exploring topical issues that affect each one of us every day.

The English Language IGCSE Course concentrates on language skills and students will learn to understand and respond to what they read and experience. Students are encouraged to use relevant vocabulary, correct grammar, spelling and punctuation, and to demonstrate a sense of style and an awareness of audience. Through reading, students will learn to understand and collate meanings, summarise, paraphrase, and understand how writers achieve effects. 

The English Literature IGCSE Course is the perfect course if you enjoy reading. You may well want to find out how to get more out of a book or be introduced to literature you have not come across before. The English Literature IGCSE course is designed to prepare students for the Pearson Edexcel IGCSE in English Literature (4ET0) syllabus.

The French IGCSE Course is designed for students who are studying French in order to enhance their future education or employment prospects and will help to foster listening, reading, conversational and written French skills. The course combines paper-based reading materials and MP3 Files. The course pack includes a preliminary French course in the pack which can give you a framework of progressive understanding in which to learn.

The German IGCSE Course is designed for anyone wanting to improve their German language skills whether it be for business, pleasure or to progress to further education. The German language is spoken by 120 million Europeans which include the UK’s closest trading partners making this a valuable language to learn. As well as Germany, it is also the first language of Austria, an official language of Switzerland, the Italian South Tyrol and also parts of Belgium.

The History IGCSE Course provides an opportunity for a fascinating insight into aspects of twentieth century history. The first half of this course focuses on Changes in Medicine (1848–1948) and the rise of the USA as a superpower, while the second half concentrates on the rise of Hitler and the Nazi party in Germany and the civil rights movement in America. Students will be offered opportunities to analyse, interpret and evaluate primary and secondary evidence, question sources of information, and learn how to present their own views in well-structured essays.

The Human Biology IGCSE Course is designed to develop a positive attitude to human biology in the twenty-first century. It attempts to look at the way biology affects your everyday life and how you can evaluate the scientific material that you come across in newspapers, magazines and on the television. The course consists of 5 modules containing 24 lessons and has 10 tutor marked assignments (TMAs) including 2 practice exam assignments.

The Geography IGCSE Course is designed to give knowledge and understanding of geographical concepts and skills and covers the Pearson Exexcel IGCSE specification. The course includes 8 practical and virtual fieldwork opportunities and enables students to develop a range of geographical skills as they work with maps, diagrams, graphs, statistics, photographic images and online media. Students should have internet access to carry out some of the research and lesson activities. There are 10 tutor marked assignments including a mock exam assignment. The Mathematics IGCSE Course gently guides the student through basic mathematical skills, progressing on to more advanced material as the student's skills and abilities develop. This home study course covers the intermediate tier and students have an optional section for the Higher Tier so you can choose which tier would be most suitable. The course also includes free access to Twig educational videos and the course will refer to specific videos to support your learning and offer greater context to your studies.

The Physics IGCSE Course is designed to develop a broad understanding of facts, concepts and principles and teach skills in physical investigation and give students the ability to evaluate the benefits and drawbacks of modern scientific developments. Each lesson of the Physics IGCSE course begins with a set of clearly stated objectives and an explanation of its place in the overall programme of study. Effective learning is encouraged through frequent activities and self-assessment tests. The course includes 12 Tutor-marked assignments of which two are mock exam assignments. Students will need to access the internet to carry out some of the course activities.

The Science IGCSE (Single Award) Course offers students the opportunity to gain a single IGCSE qualification covering different aspects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Students who want to study Science to a higher level should consider the Double Award Course or the three single science subjects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

The Science IGCSE (Double Award) Course combines the most interesting aspects of IGCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics. This is an ideal introduction for students who require a grounding in elementary science which has become a requirement for many important occupations, such as Teaching, Nursing & midwifery. This double award IGCSE Science is equivalent to two IGCSEs. Written by experienced science teachers and subject specialists, the course provides excellent preparation for the IGCSE Science examinations.

The Spanish IGCSE Course is designed to foster listening, reading, conversational and written Spanish skills. This lively and interactive course combines paper-based materials and an audio CD. The course is not intended for complete beginners and it assumes that students have some experience of the Spanish language. This doesn’t have to be too broad and the first few lessons are designed to remind students of the basic building blocks of the Spanish language and to prepare them for the IGCSE-style exercises in the rest of the course. The course pack includes a preliminary Spanish course in the pack which can give you a framework of progressive understanding in which to learn.
