Course Description

The Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care - Level 3 Certificate (RQF) Course is aimed at Learners who are considering, or starting out in, a career in Adult Social Care. This course develops the knowledge and understanding needed to implement and promote good practice in recording, sharing, storing and accessing information in social care settings.

This course is an ideal way to learn more about this rewarding role and to be better equipped to assist those in need of care and support From understanding the role of social care workers to recognising the importance of subjects such as safeguarding, communication, diversity, inclusion and personal development.

On successful completion of this course, learners will receive the Level 3 Certificate Qualification with 21 Credits from NCFE CACHE. This qualification is worth 16 UCAS Points.

This unit is aimed at those working in a wide range of settings. This unit introduces the important area of safeguarding individuals from abuse. It identifies different types of abuse and the signs and symptoms that might indicate abuse is occurring. It considers when individuals might be particularly vulnerable to abuse and what a learner must do if abuse is suspected or alleged.

Unit Information:

This unit is aimed at those who work in health or social care settings or with children or young people in a wide range of settings. It considers how duty of care contributes to safe practice, and how to address dilemmas or complaints that may arise where there is a duty of care.

Unit Information:

This unit is aimed at those who are interested in, or new to working in social care settings. It provides the knowledge required to understand the nature of working relationships, working in ways that are agreed with the employer, and working in partnership with others.

This unit develops the understanding of person-centred support as a fundamental principle of adult social care.

This unit is aimed at those who are interested in, or new to, working in a social care setting. It develops learners’ knowledge and understanding of areas of health and safety required to working in a social care setting.

Course Format & Delivery

You will receive access to the course materials through an online portal for a 12-month period. Students can use the portal for accessing their course materials, submitting assignments and to log tutor questions. 

Please Note: An optional hard-copy version of the course notes can be purchased for an additional £48.00. This is useful for learners who also want to study away from the computer and means they have course notes they can keep and refer back to beyond their online course license.

Delivery of the hard-copy materials is usually within 5 to 10 working days by a recorded delivery service.

Prerequistes

There are no particular entry requirements for this course, so students can sign up providing they are comfortable studying at a Level 3 standard.

Course Duration & Online Support

You can start this course at any time, and you would be registered for a one-year period. You also have access to a personal tutor who can be contacted by email. Your tutor is available to assist with any queries and to mark your assignments for the Awarding Body.

As the course is self-study, you can complete it as quickly as you like. Support extensions are available if students do not complete the course within the one-year period.

Assessment

Students will be required to complete a number of assignments. Your personal tutor will review, mark and provide you with feedback on your work. Coursework assignments can be returned by uploading to the online portal, by email or by post.

We recommend that assignments are completed and returned as word-processed documents through the online portal. Handwritten documents can be accepted but need to be clear and legible and may be subject to a longer marking time.

NCFE CACHE Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Level 3 Qualification

On successful completion of this course students will receive a Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Level 3 Certificate Qualification issued by NCFE CACHE.

This qualification has been accredited on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF Qual. No: 600/0048/X) and has 21 Credits.
