STEVEN SPIELBERG
This movie director is worth around 3.6 billion dollars to date, has won Oscars, Academy Awards, BAFTAs and countless other awards. He is responsible for some of the best known and most celebrated movies of the 20th and 21st centuries. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in film and electronic arts from California State University, Long Beach in 2002.

EMMA WATSON
This young lady is as fierce, determined and studious as her character in Harry Potter, without a doubt. After becoming one of the most famous faces in the world as Hermione Granger, Emma Watson enrolled in Brown University in 2009 and graduated with a BA in English Lit in 2014.
She filmed the last two Harry Potter films and made two other movies (The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Bling Ring) during her time at Brown, which is pretty impressive. She didn’t let her incredible fame or busy schedule get in the way of her attaining her goals.

MICHAEL JORDAN
The NBA star, known as possibly the greatest basketball player of all time, went back to university to finish his degree in geography - after becoming a globally recognised and beloved mega star of the sport world.
He did not let his stardom, or his great wealth, keep him from getting the education he wanted in the subject that interested him.
Michael Jordan went on to become a true advocate for education and launched the ‘Jordan Brand Wings Scholars Program’ which has seen hundreds of young people attend university for free with his scholarships since 2015.
NATALIE PORTMAN
After becoming a globally famous film star, Natalie Portman went to Harvard University to study psychology and neuroscience, graduating in 2003. She then went on to take Hebrew graduate classes at the university of Jerusalem.
When interviewed about her decision to enrich her education, she said ‘I don’t care if my studies ruin my career. I’d rather be smart, than a movie star.’
She’s gone on to star in many more blockbusters since her degree, as well as produce and direct several highly celebrated films. She has also been an outspoken advocate for many social and political causes. This is a very busy lady whose accomplishments just keep on increasing.
EVA LONGORIA
Well-known as feisty Latina wife Gabriella Solis in hit American series Desperate Housewives, this amazing lady attended California State University of Northridge when she was 38 to earn her master’s degree in Chicano studies.
She submitted her thesis in 2013, which was entitled ‘Success STEMS from Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers’.
SIR LENNY HENRY, CBE
This king of comedy, acting legend, writer, presenter and well-loved household name did not go down the traditional further education route when he was young but went straight into his career as an entertainer.
Then in 2007, having conquered the world of acting, stand-up comedy, singing, writing, presenting and after co-founding the famous charity Comic Relief, Sir Lenny Henry graduated from the Open University with a BA Hons degree in English Literature. He then went on to do a MA in screenwriting for TV and film at Royal Holloway London followed by a PhD in the role of black people in the media.
