Adobe Premiere Pro Digital Video Essentials Course

The Adobe Premiere Pro Essentials Course will help you become proficient in Premiere Pro’s wide range of video editing tools. The course can also prepare you for the Adobe Certified Professional Digital Video using Adobe Premiere Pro Examination (Formally Adobe Certified Associate / ACA), an industry-recognised qualification.

Adobe’s Premiere Pro CC is the industry-leading video editing software for film, video, and the web and the intuitive software is designed to help you to transform raw footage into polished films and video. With Premiere Pro, you can edit footage in any format, from 8K to virtual reality, and native file support, lightweight proxy workflows, and faster ProRes HDR allow you work easily and efficiently with your video projects.

For the absolute beginner, the course is self-paced and highly practical, teaching you the fundamental concepts and features through hands-on exercises and assignments and if you have previous Premiere Pro experience, we investigate and try out many advanced features, such as complex special effects and colour correction techniques.

The course comes with the wide range of sample video, audio, and image files you will need to practice all of Premiere Pro’s important features and, by the end of the course, you will have worked with all of Premiere Pro’s important tools and will be using the application like a professional, producing exciting videos with special effects, titles, and rolling credits.

We start with the basic theory, explaining how to set up a new project, import video and audio assets, and organise your clips, moving on to the wide range of video editing techniques, using clips and markers, and inserting transitions, before investigating advanced editing techniques, video effects, colour correction features, editing, mixing, and improving audio, and finishing with compositing techniques, such as green-screening, creating your own original graphics, and exporting frames, clips, and sequences.

The Premiere Pro CC Essentials course follows the syllabus for the corresponding Adobe Certified Professional examination and, as well as being suitable for beginners, who wish to become proficient in Premiere Pro’s wide variety of video editing features, the course can be used both as a primer or as a refresher course prior to taking the Certified Associate examination.

Based on the proven "learn by example” principle which, as the name implies, provides real-world examples to illustrate a particular topic or technique, the courses are delivered through our on-line training portal via a standard web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, or Safari. The lesson notes are delivered through slides giving you the required information to work through each lesson and there are student files you will download to work on so you are putting into practice what you are learning. You will also be supported by a personal tutor who is available to provide feedback on your work at any time throughout the period of study.

All students have the option to purchase Adobe Exam Vouchers for £156.00 which will cover the cost of the exam at participating exam centres. We keep this fee optional as not all learners will want to complete the Adobe exams.voucher to make sure a suitable participating exam centre is available. 

A voucher would be required for each Adobe exam you sit. An additional proctoring fee will also need to be paid to the exam centre for each exam arranged.

You should also have a working knowledge of your computer and operating system, including accessing the frequently-used menus and commands, and how to open, save, and close files.

Computer & Software Requirements:

To complete this course you will need a Windows or Apple Mac PC with at least 12gb of spare disk space, 8gb RAM, a dedicated graphics card (not essential, but preferred), and a subscription to Adobe’s Premiere Pro CC software, with Premiere Pro CC installed.

You can start this course at any time, and you would be registered for a one-year period. You also have access to a personal tutor who can be contacted by email. Your tutor is available to assist with any queries and to mark your assignments.

As the course is self-study, you can complete it as quickly as you like. Support extensions are available if students do not complete the course within the one-year period.

You will be assessed on the completed assignments contained in the training programme. The coursework consists of a series of projects using the Adobe Premiere Pro software. At the end of the course, you submit your coursework to your course tutor for assessment.

On successful completion of this course students will receive our Adobe Premiere Pro Essentials Certificate of Completion with feedback from your tutor, and students can also apply for the Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) Digital Video using Adobe Premiere Pro Examination.

Exam fees can vary, but our registered learners can purchase an Adobe Exam Voucher (Valid for 12 Months) for £156.00. We usually advise buying a voucher when you are ready to sit your test, although you can add this to your order when you purchase your course. Exam Centre's will also usually charge an additional proctoring fee (approximately £15.00 to £25.00) for sitting exams.
