The Biology A Level Course embraces the fascinating study of life and all living organisms. This specification will cover the molecular basis, origins and the ecosystems inhabited by such organisms. The course will also deal with the more worrying aspects of Biology such as disease, habitat destruction and genetic engineering.

The Business A level Course will give you a solid grounding in many of the skills required for business life in the rapidly changing world of the new millennium. One of our most popular courses, it assumes no prior knowledge, although it is an advantage to have some background in accounting and mathematics. New topics include the “dot com” phenomenon and how to start a new business.

The Economics A Level Course has been developed so students can learn to apply economic theory to support analysis of current economic issues. Students are encouraged to understand the interrelationships between microeconomics and macroeconomics and to help in developing real life skills which are needed to understand and analyse data, and to think critically and to make informed decisions. Students will also develop their quantative skills and learn to evaluate arguments using both qualitative and quantitative data.

The English Language A Level Course introduces advanced language study and develops a students' ability to write for a variety of audiences and purposes. You will discover linguistic frameworks and how these can be used to analyse and interpret language..

This home study course provides the perfect opportunity for students to improve their language skills and gain an understanding of the underlying structures of English, both spoken and written.

Taking the English Literature A Level Course is an excellent way to introduce yourself to a wide range of works of drama, poetry and prose. On this AQA syllabus, there are two written papers and two pieces of coursework and the course prepares you thoroughly for all of them. The course is designed to encourage candidates in developing further interest and enjoyment in literary studies by reading widely, critically and independently and to also introduce candidates to the traditions of English Literature.

The French A Level Course will help students develop confident, effective communication skills in French and a thorough understanding of the culture of countries and communities where French is spoken. The course will help students to improve on their existing French skills and build on the essential skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing the French language. Effective learning is encouraged through frequent activities and self-assessment questions. The History A Level Course has been designed to help students understand the significance of historical events, the role of individuals in history and the nature of change over time. This qualification will help students to gain a deeper understanding of the past through political, social, economic and cultural perspectives. The course builds on the subjects taught at GCSE.

The Law A Level Course will give you a thorough understanding of how law is created, administered and changed. You will learn how to analyse problem situations and apply the appropriate substantive legal rules and principles. You will gain the ability to evaluate critically the appropriateness and effectiveness of particular legal rules, institutions and procedures together with an appreciation of the effects of the law and the legal system on the individual and society.

The Sociology A Level Course will present you with various sociological theories and ask you to draw on your experiences and background knowledge to test their validity and accuracy. People know and understand 95% of what is happening to them simply by living and learning, wrote the sociologist Professor Halsey. Sociology seeks to provide the other 5% by asking relevant questions and identifying general patterns of social relationships that are not necessarily recognised by those immediately involved.
